Intermittent Static on local voice PRI to a 3640

I have a 24 channel Voice PRI coming into a 3640 router at a remote office. We are experiencing intermittent static during random calls, in and outbound. The static can be heard extremely loud on the external parties end. The static can last between 1-4 seconds. Has anyone seen this and possibly know a solution to this. All calls are local to the 3640 route, so there is no WAN VoIP involved.

sh controllers will show any errors on the T1. Any errors at all will require a call to your SP. If none, check your IOS for bugs but this sounds more like a WAN issue.

From my experiences with this problem ALOT, it usually always comes down to a dB problem from the Smartjack/NIU to the voip pstn gateway, if it is too hot, it will cause static and dropped calls and likewise when it isn't hot enough.. Either way, there is deffinatly a carrier problem. Call your LEC and have them roll a truck with a Tech that has a T-berd to monitor the circuit and place some test calls..
