I have a 24 channel Voice PRI coming into a 3640 router at a remote office. We are experiencing intermittent static during random calls, in and outbound. The static can be heard extremely loud on the external parties end. The static can last between 1-4 seconds. Has anyone seen this and possibly know a solution to this. All calls are local to the 3640 route, so there is no WAN VoIP involved.
Re: Intermittent Static on local voice PRI to a 3640
From my experiences with this problem ALOT, it usually always comes down to a dB problem from the Smartjack/NIU to the voip pstn gateway, if it is too hot, it will cause static and dropped calls and likewise when it isn't hot enough.. Either way, there is deffinatly a carrier problem. Call your LEC and have them roll a truck with a Tech that has a T-berd to monitor the circuit and place some test calls..
