Hi,

The 2811 does indeed support the following MGCP features:

MGCP - Media Gateway Control Protocol

MGCP 1.0 Including NCS 1.0 and TGCP 1.0 Profiles

MGCP Based Fax (T.38) and DTMF Relay

MGCP Basic CLASS and Operator Services

MGCP Call Centric Debug

MGCP CAS PBX and AAL2 PVC

MGCP Controlled Backhaul of BRI Signaling

MGCP Endpoint Range Support

MGCP Fax Rate Control

MGCP Gateway Support for Cisco CallManager Network Specific Facilities

MGCP Gateway- Media and Signaling Authentication and Encryption Feature

MGCP Generic Configuration Support for Call Manager (IP-PBX)

MGCP Line Control Signaling Package

MGCP Line Package Enhancements for Loop Current Feed Open (LCFO)

MGCP PRI backhaul and T1-CAS support for Call Manager (IP-PBX)

MGCP Standalone Remote Office Support for Call Manager (IP-PBX)

MGCP support for CallManager (IP-PBX)

MGCP VoIP Call Admission Control

The following doc has info on using the IOS MGCP Gateway on the 2600/3600 (the config for the 2811 is similar):

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a008017787b.shtml

Hope that helps - pls rate the post if it does.

Paresh

can you have it run as a MGCP gateway without Callmanager?

You can not run MGCP on 2811 with out Callmanager

You have to get the router to register with Cisco CallManager using:

mgcp call-agent

Paresh

could you perhaps enter in as the call-agent the ip address of another mgcp client other then a callmanager server?
