IOS translation-rule - need help

Sorry if this mail has been sent twice

I need to create a translation rule or voice translation-rule which allow 8[0-3].. to be translated in 0155448[0-3].. without creating a rule for 80.., 81..,82..and 83..

My problem is that

this work

translation-rule 1

rule 0 ^80 01554480

rule 1 ^81 01554481

rule 2 ^82 01554482

rule 3 ^83 01554483

but I need to create only 1 rule instead of 4 because rules are limited to 10 and my numbering plan doesn't go from 0 to 9 ( discontiguous numbering plan)

Example :

8100 call reach the IOS gateway and I want this number be translated in 0155448100 to be routed by the IOS gateway

Can you help me

Need your help as soon as possible

Thanks for all

Irene

Re: IOS translation-rule - need help

Hi Sascha,

Thanks for your answer but I don't want to match ^8.

meaning digit begining by 8 and like 81,82, 83,84,85,86,87,88 or 89. I want to match only 81,82,83 but not 84,85,86 etc...

I want to exclude 84,85 up to 89

Re: IOS translation-rule - need help

If you use voice translation-rule, you can add 1-15 rules. That will give you some space to write this individual rules.

I am not sure if we can specify a range in translation-rule expressions.

Re: IOS translation-rule - need help

Thanks for your answer

using translation rule I can add only 10 rules and I need to add 23 because of the existing numbering Plan.

I don't know how to specifiy a range from [1-3] for example and I am not shure that it's possible too.

Re: IOS translation-rule - need help

this should probably work for you unless I'm not getting what you want. the \0 inserts the matched pattern (could use a '&' instead if you prefer)

voice translation-rule 1

rule 1 /^8[0-3]../ /015544\0/

hq#test voice translation-rule 1 8100

Matched with rule 1

Original number: 8100 Translated number: 0155448100

Original number type: none Translated number type: none

Original number plan: none Translated number plan: none

hq#test voice translation-rule 1 8200

Matched with rule 1

Original number: 8200 Translated number: 0155448200

Original number type: none Translated number type: none

Original number plan: none Translated number plan: none

hq#test voice translation-rule 1 8300

Matched with rule 1

Original number: 8300 Translated number: 0155448300

Original number type: none Translated number type: none

Original number plan: none Translated number plan: none

hq#test voice translation-rule 1 8400

8400 Didn't match with any of rules

Re: IOS translation-rule - need help

ah super! I saw on my GW it works....

I was wondering how to put the matched digits back..

I couldn't find this documented....do you know where?

.....the voice translation-rule allows 15 rules...

so 4 seperate rules wouldn't matter I guess...???
