IP Communicator - Background Noise

Hi all,

We have implemented VOIP in our plant with several computers using IP Communicator and a lot of 7912s and 7940s.

The problem is that the people who has IP Communicator are experiencing noises and gaps in their communications.

One thing is that if they mute the microphone the noises fall a lot...

Every audio parameter in the PC audio configuration is well configurated.

Thank you for your help.

Re: IP Communicator - Background Noise

Hi David .... it sounds like you are running into a problem called "clipping" which cuts off the audio due to the sensitivity of the microphone. In a noisy environment you will probably need to use headsets with a "noise cancelling" feature built in. This will filter out the background noise from the plant that is causing the "clipping".
