I've had two cases in which a person using IP Communicator which has been working on their PC for some time is suddenly unable to use it any longer because it will not respond to mouse input.
Typically the symptoms are:
User is working over VPN.
OS has been Vista in one case, Win7 in another.
Phone will start up and register normally. All looks OK.
User will click new call: Gets dial tone normally.
That's where it ends. The phone will no longer accept any mouse input. Not for soft keys, numeric keys, menu options or right click. At that point the phone is unuseable. If it's forced closed from the tray icon or task manager and restarted, the same cycle repeats.
The first time this happened, we were able to work around the problem using a hard phone for the user. The second incident has just happened and is an open issue.
If anyone has seen this before and / or has any suggesions I'd be glad to hear them.
