Sorry, I am a bit new in this area so would appreciated any help.

On the user's "IP Phone Service Page", what does it looks like and how does it work? Are the users allow to subscribe to ALL services? Or would they be required / prompted for password for services?

Thanks for help in advance,

Lee

Those are generic questions so I'll try to answer the best I can.

The services have to be made available on CallManager

The users can subscribe to them through CCMUser page.

Some services require login so they will need a password and it's probably going to be the digits they used to login to the CCMUser page (assuming you are using DC Directory)

Hi hinho,

Is my understanding correct?

Before the user can subscribes to a service on CCMUser page, an CCM Admin will have to create the new service first at CallManager. And the admin can choose whether it is a secure service or not (on a service-by-service basis).

So in theory, an user can subscribe to all services that are available to the user. Some of them they can just subscribe without password, while others (restrictive service) will require a password from the user in order for user to subscribe.

Thanks,

Lee

Some ip phone services such as "directory lookup" does not require authentication but Extension Mobility requires it.

There are several default that comes with CCM but most importantly, the service can be custom. So here is the start of what you can do with it:
