IP Phone ????

These is my scanario:

We have a big call manager cluster +1200 IPPhone, one of these, where ever time go to reset and do not reconfigure.

I guest, thats my phones lost the keepalive and try to reconnect again, but the SUB no release or reconfirm the ip's address.

We fix individually, how? ...... on IPPhone DHCP=off, put the same IP on CCM displayed last time verified, and all is OK.

My questions, how I fix that? How I return to automatic reconfiguration?

This problen is on CCM Aplication?

Or is on DHCP server?

Thank,

Re: IP Phone ????

Are you using the Publisher CCM as the TFTP server?

Do you have TFTP option 150 properly configured in the DHCP scope?

Are there any Events in the Windows event viewer that indicate a problem with the Cisco TFTP service?

Re: IP Phone ????

What is the CCM version?

Are you running DHCP on the CCM?

Are you rebooting 1200 phones at the same time?

Are the CallManagers configured as IP Address or DNS in Enterprise Parameters, CCM Server Config, TFTP option 150.

Thx,

Re: IP Phone ????

CCM version 4.1.2, DHCP out CCM.

Yes, It do, but I don't know what so, look be a power phone fail, becouse We don't send reset.

We have DNS resolution. I can't confir TFTP=150, Where I check?

So, I see on Enterprise Parameters son field are changed, they are:

DSCP for SCCP phone-based services = EF DSCP(101110)

DSCP for SCCP phone configuration = EF DSCP (101110)

DSCP for Cisco Call Manager to Device Interface = EF DSCP (101110), and the suggest valued are:

DSCP for SCCP phone-based services Default DSCP(000000)

DSCP for SCCP phone configuration CS3(Precedence 3) DSCP (011000)

DSCP for Cisco Call Manager to Device Interface CS3(Precedence 3) DSCP (011000)

I suspect problem with DNS, becouse when I put manual the network configuration the phone up ok but I check on setting status, messages status:

DNS unknown host

No DNS server IP

MACAddress file conf. ---------> OK

Thank, 007

Re: IP Phone ????

It looks like your DNS needs to be added to your DHCP scope. If you are using the names of the servers and not the IP's in the "server configuration window."

Right click on My computer and select Manage.

then Open "Services and Applications"

select DHCP - then open the tree for your scope

select scope options and tell me what is there...

I bet your DNS isn't there or is setup incorrectly.

Best practice is to setup the system so it is not dependant on DNS, it creates overhead for you and is another part of the overall system to die.

Re: IP Phone ????

I didn't see the question earlier about how to set the phone back to its default auto-configuration mode.

Settings - **# then network configuration

Select 33 - Erase Configuration - change it to yes

Save

save

Cancel

Cancel

your phone should reboot and reload default at that point
