IP softphone best practicecs?

is there a best practice for the softphone? I am preplexed in what was is the best for setting up an IP softphone.

Some of my users have Wireless and Wired Mac address... which should I give callmanager? Or should it be the VPN client mac address? I have 2 different phones setup for one person.. wired and wireless based upon their mac address.

For the line that goes on the IP Softphone, I have been using the share lined from their desk phone in the office. So if this person works from home, the shareline rings their desk or the softphone if they have it on.

Any comments or suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: IP softphone best practicecs?

If you do not want the shared line to ring at their desk, you will need to have them use extension mobility on their desk and have the user logoff when they go home to use softphone.

CCM needs to register softphone by nic mac address. So, if you want wireless and wired, you'll have to enter multiple mac's in CCM.
