Can the Cisco IP Softphone to be operated on a PC linked to the main call manager site via dial-up asynch analog modem link ( with speed of 28.8K ) ?

Yes I've had success with a 28.8 connection using SoftPhone however you should only be using the client and not running email or other programs. Also there is no doubt a delay in both ends receiving audio. I've also learned from another peer that if you are at a considerable distance from the Centeral Office the audio may be useless. You need to select "Always use low bandwidth codec" in the audio setting (at least on version 1.3.1. As you are probably aware Cisco does not support dialup.

Is it not supporting dialup within the softphone application ?
