IP Telephony Support for Analog Line

We have some of your team members currently placed in a client site in the UAE where they are using IP

Telephony solutions from cisco. Our team members need to access our office network by dialing through their laptop modems into our RAS. Is there an option to use the same line and convert it into a analog line.

Or are there are any modems available which support this kind of IP Telephony network to dial out

Re: IP Telephony Support for Analog Line

There are several solutions to this issue, it is completely dependent upon what type of gateways you are using. With the AS5300 type boxes, and the Catalyst 6000 FXS blade (running G711 only) there is a "modem passthru" command available with 12.1(3)T

Or - have you looked into using a modem bank on a router (gateway) and using a dial out utility on the clients? I've implemented this many times with much success. A word of caution though - if you are using DOS based apps (remember DOS?) you may run into issues.
