Does Video Conference using H.323 over delicated T1 line using Cisco 1720 work? If so without replacing the router with higher one w/MCM, how many session should one be able to have at one time?

It should work with QoS features in 12.2 no problem. In fact, since your T1 is dedicated, you can probably do it fine without QoS for several sessions. A T1 can handle a lot of sessions. Anyone know the exact number?

I think it would depend on the quality of the H.323 session. We run 384k per session, so we could do 4 sessions. Your mileage may vary.

Depending on your codec, you can raise or lower the bandwidth assigned to the H.323 session. I'm familiar with Polycom units, and they have the ability to run from 64k up to 768k.

A 384kbps video call translates typically into about 530kbps with overhead. Also, some CODECs, like Polycoms, like to pack more data into packets. Take your hand in front of a camera on a video call and move it really fast, and the codec will actually send over more than 1Mbps!!! This 'dynamic bandwidth' feature is lovely for us network managers...
