IPCC Express 3.1 and 3.0(3)a - VoIPMON/Rascal on diff subnets
I understand that the Rascal/VoIPMON services operate depending on SPAN/RSPAN for monitoring/recording. This is not a problem when my agents/supervisors are on the same layer 2 infrastructure. My problem is that when I seperate some agents/Supervisors across a layer 3 link I loose all monitoring/recording for the agents that sit across the layer 3 link.
I have heard that with 3.1 you can configure an independent Rascal/VoIPMON server. Does this mean if I stick this seperate server(Dedicated Rascal/Voip MON) across the layer 3 link to server the new agents/supervisors and locally SPAN/RSPAN their layer 2 info that I can overcome the Layer 3 limitation? If so can I do this with 3.0(3)a SPC?
Theoretically this makes sense but I need confirmation before designing something like this.
