IPICS LMR Tailing Issue On Radios

Does anyone have any config. examples for voice ports of a 2811 router connected to Kenwood radios? We are having a hard time fine tuning a tailing issue. Tailing = Radio 1 transmits, Radio 2 recieves transmission but must wait at least 5 seconds before reply. We would like radio 2 to be able to reply within a second.

Is there a certain distance they are able to get away from the radios that the switches no longer cause a problem?

There is always a tail at the end of every radio transmition. The Kenwood radios have a higher tail squelch sound. The E&M port thinks the squelch is audio signal.
