i've got a problem with starting the IPMA Phone Service from the assistant phone. It's the same service you start from the managers phone. There it works, but on the assistant's phone I only get the message "NULL" on the screen. I use CCM version 4.2 where it should be possible to control the manager's line without the assistant desktop console. Any suggestion what I can change, because the desktop console forces crashs on some computers.
Just read your post. I am getting exactly the same error just now on a set of customer's phones. They are using CCM 4.2 also. The manager's can login correctly and get the appropriate screen displayed. I have tried this previously on our test CCMs,and it worked perfectly well.
The phones we are using are 7960Gs. Previously, I was getting another error, saying the "IPMA service is not supported on this device" Is this what you have seen? Have you found a solution to this as yet?
This was some time ago when I had this issue. From what I can remember, there were two issues:
1) The user Locale was set to UK. Apparently, IPMA only supports a User Locale of US.
2) The customer has CRA installed on the publisher (where the IPMa service was running). When the upgrade to CCM4.2 happened, CRA did not get upgraded. Accrding to the CRA docs, the version that was on the server was not compatible with 4.2 (I think the CRA version was 3.5.3, but I cannot be sure). Anyway, there is a document that tells what CRA version to use with CCM4.2
Once those things were changed, it worked OK, from what I can remember.
Are you getting this error “Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported. The installer cannot run in this UI mode. To specify the interface mode, use the -i command-line option, followed by the UI mode identifier. The value UI mode identifiers...
The below trick might come handy when you have to add a new node to a cluster but you don't have or is unsure of the security password for the publisher. This procedure has been around for ages.
1) Login into the CLI of the Publisher.
