Is H323-to-SIP transcoding available at IP2IP Gateway?

Hi everybody. I thought this question is similar to one posted before. I already tried to find an answer by my self looking at the documentation and archives but I wasn't lucky.

I have the following:

CCM<->IP2IPGW<->SIP PROVIDER

*CCM 4.1(3)

*IP2IPGW application at Cisco 2811 with PVDM2-48

*SIP PROVIDER only supports codec G.729r8

*IP2IPGW is declared as H.323 GW at CCM

*I have an incoming dial-peer at IP2IPGW for H.323 with G.711ulaw codec

*I have an outgoing dial-peer at IP2IPGW for sipv2 with G.729r8 codec

I have already configured the following at the ip2ipgw:

voice service voip

allow-connections h323 to sip

According to IP2IPGW release documentation the H323 to SIP codec conversion from G.711 to G.729 is available.

Why am I getting the following behavior?

361D : 74 4041230ms.73 +-1 +5320 pid:2 Originate 14082357700

dur 00:00:00 tx:0/0 rx:0/0 41 (bearer capability not implemented (65))

IP 0.0.0.0:0 SRTP: off rtt:0ms pl:0/0ms lost:0/0/0 delay:0/0/0ms g729r8 TextRel

ay: off

361D : 73 4041220ms.75 +-1 +10180 pid:1 Answer 313

dur 00:00:00 tx:0/0 rx:0/0 41 (bearer capability not implemented (65))

IP 0.0.0.0:0 SRTP: off rtt:0ms pl:0/0ms lost:0/0/0 delay:0/0/0ms g729r8 pre-iet

f TextRelay: off

Am I missing something to accomplish the transcoding from G.711ulaw to G.729r8?

I would configure both voice codecs to be G.729 and verify whether the call goes through.

I would add all the four commands.

allow-connections h323 to sip

allow-connections sip to h323

allow-connections sip to sip

allow-connections h323 to h323

For transcoding you need to configure the router as a hw transcoder provided you have enough DSPs.

Re: Is H323-to-SIP transcoding available at IP2IP Gateway?

I've already tried configuring both dial-peers with codec G.729 and I got exactly the same behavior.

About transcoding it supposes the hw transcoder configuration is to register the IP2IPGW with CCM using SCCP protocol for Transcoding, MTP or Conferencing for endpoints that not support LowBitRate codec like G.729

I don't want to use transcoding for the CCM. I would like to use transcoding inside the IP2IPGW so if it receives an incoming leg for an incoming H323 dial-peer with codec G.711ulaw then put the outgoing call leg at the outgoing SIP dial-peer with codec G.729r8.

Is it possible?
