Is IPMA compatable with Extension Mobility?

We are deploying Extension Mobility throughout a CalManager Cluster - approx 350 Phones, 4 CM`s.

There are appox 20 IPMA sessions within the company and I would like to know whether IPMA was compatible with EXT MOB (ie whether both Manager and Assistant have roaming profiles).

I understand the IPMA software would have to be available to the Assisitant at which ever desk location they sat.

Also Is there a limit on the IPMA sessions?

Thanks for any response in advance.

Kind Regards Mark.

I think there are no compatibility issues with Extension Mobility and IPMA. See this document for troubleshooting any issues:

Hi,

You need at least CCM 3.3(3)SR2 because there were some bugs between IPMA and EM in the previous versions

Marc

Many Thanks Marc - I will check this version. Any chsnce that you know whether the number of IPMA sessions is restricted?

Regards Mark.

Excellent - Thankyou for your help

When IPMA and EM are used together, only the Managers can use the EM feature (ie, they can log into any phone which is configured for EM).

The Assistant phones cannot be used for EM (so the Assistants have to use their own phones, they cannot login to any other phone using EM and be a IPMA Assistant simultaneously).

Thanks, I wonder if you could tell me whether you can use mutiple Route Points with Wild cards. (e.g. 709X, 204X and 109X) to cover all manangers numbers. Or do you have to use 1 route Point per cluster. Cos the first IPMA pair we set up was fine, then the second one is giving us many hours of problems. We have checked and checked the settings, restarted the CTI and Tomcat service without Luck.Any ideas??

In the IPMA service parameters you can only set up one IPMA route point so as for me, you can only use one RP.

I've set up this for a customer of mine : single IPMA route point with many lines. It's working quite fine except with rare exceptions when one of the line is not getting monitored by the Tomcat service.

I already asked TAC for this problem and here is the response

From 3.3.2spC the limitation is set to 34 lines per CTI RP.

The feature request opened to have this supported is CSCea63881

I don't know if newer versions have change anything

Regards,

Marc

Nice One , I did not realise you could only use 1 Route Point. Thanks Mark
