ISDN BRI "Requested facility not subscribed" on debug isdn q931

I'm setting up a new Callmanager Express site. I'm using VIC2-2BRI ports on a 2821 running 12.4 (3a) CCME Version 3.3

When I try and place or receive a call across the BRI circuits, I get this error message on "debug isdn q931".

May 30 15:19:02: ISDN BR0/0/0 Q931: RX <- RELEASE_COMP pd = 8 callref = 0x55

Cause i = 0x82B2 - Requested facility not subscribed

May 30 15:19:02: ISDN BR0/0/0 **ERROR**: L3_BadPeerMsg: event 0x5A cr 0xD5 callid 0x0

Everything looks good at layer 1 and 2 using "show isdn status".

Re: ISDN BRI "Requested facility not subscribed" on debug isdn q

Bill,

Can you provide a full Q931 debug. From a data side I have had to change the speed to 56k before but never ran into this on voice. To change it on the interface use the commands below (again I've really only used this for voice but it might be worth trying).

interface BRI0

bandwidth 56

Below is an output of the speed that is used for the bearer channel.

RX <- SETUP pd = 8 callref = 0x06

Bearer Capability i = 0x8890

Channel ID i = 0x89

Calling Party Number i = 0x0083, `5551234'

TX -> CONNECT pd = 8 callref = 0x86

RX <- CONNECT_ACK pd = 8 callref = 0x06

Here is the bearer capability in english.

(Bearer Capability i = 0x8890 = 64k)

(Bearer Capability i = 0x8090A2 = Speech/voice call u-law)

Also make sure you have the "isdn incoming-voice voice" command on your interface. Can you post a "sh runn"?

Thanks

Fred

Re: ISDN BRI "Requested facility not subscribed" on debug isdn q

please provide the 'show isdn status' output.

you must have FRAME_ESTABLISHED at layer 2.

are these isdn circuits configured properly as far as the telco? may not be ready for calls yet.....

Re: ISDN BRI "Requested facility not subscribed" on debug isdn q

Here is the meaning of your output. Cause i = 0x82B2

82 Means Telco switch sent it.

B2 Requested facility not subscribed

The remote equipment supports the supplementary service by subscription only.

Here are a couple of things that could cause it. The first one I ran into before.

This cause indicates that the network cannot provide the supplementary service that the user requests. The user has probably not completed the necessary administrative arrangements with the supporting networks.

I have run into this before on PRI, not sure if this will work on BRI. Try setting the below command on the BRI interface. This will remove outbound calling name display but will probably fix your issue. If you require the service talk to TELCO to get it subscribed.

"no isdn outgoing ie facility"

Also these below if disable outgoing ie on the BRI doesnt work.

The ISDN network can also return this cause code when a user makes a call attempt, but does not enter the SPIDs, or enters the SPIDs incorrectly. Ensure that your SPIDs are correct, or contact your telco to verify your SPIDs.

Also verify the speed of the outgoing call that the ISDN network supports (56k or 64k).

Re: ISDN BRI "Requested facility not subscribed" on debug isdn q

The "no isdn outgoing ie facility" command did not help.

I've tried calls with and without spids configured-I have verified spids with the telco. Other sites I have set up I have not used spids and calls worked fine.

I'll check with the telco and see what speed of outgoing calls they support. Is there a way to change that from the Cisco side?

Thanks for your suggestions.

Re: ISDN BRI "Requested facility not subscribed" on debug isdn q

Here's the show isdn status:

Global ISDN Switchtype = basic-5ess

ISDN BRI0/0/0 interface

dsl 0, interface ISDN Switchtype = basic-5ess

Layer 1 Status:

ACTIVE

Layer 2 Status:

TEI = 72, Ces = 1, SAPI = 0, State = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED

Layer 3 Status:

0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)

Active dsl 0 CCBs = 0

The Free Channel Mask: 0x80000003

Re: ISDN BRI "Requested facility not subscribed" on debug isdn q

Your previous post was right-it was the spids. I was getting incorrect spid configuration from the telco. I finally got an engineer who gave me the correct spid settings. They are working fine now.

Thanks.

ISDN BRI "Requested facility not subscribed" on debug isdn q931

just came across this thread and thought i would add my recent experience.

Call Flow:

PSTN>T1 PRI>2811 voice gateway>SIP Trunk>Asterisk voice server>IP Phone

when trying to place calls out, i would get the "Requested facility not subscribed" msg on my q931 debug. I entered the command #no isdn outgoing ie facility on my serial0/0/0:23 interface and now can place outbound calls.

Thanks very much.
