Client wants to setup IPT in 3 different sites. Initial plan is to use ITS for the 12-15 IP Phones in the 3 Sites. The ITS will be installed in the Central office while possible SRST on the remote sites. Currently the sites are connected to the central site with 64 kbps. Is it possible to have the IP Phones on the remote site with the 64 kbps? How many phones can it support on the remote site? What codec is being used? In Callmanager I think its ok because of the location settings, a lower bandwidth codec. Has anybody tested ITS at 64kbps link? Can you provide examples or links on using QoS for the setup?
It is possible to have the remote phones with 64 Kbps, you can use g729 codec with vad and you should be looking at about 26K per call, or you could also theoretically use header compression and bring it down to 12K per call. Nonetheless it is possible. WHat is not possible is the SRST, why would you have SRST on the remote sites, why not just simply ITS? SRST and ITS are essentially the same thing, but you cannot fallback out of ITS into SRST, it doesnt make much sense. If you are running SRST on the remote routers, you might as well run ITS on the remotes as well.
You have many options for QoS, LLQ and FRTS are examples and probably the best solution.
