IVR - date comparisons

Hi,

I have a simple question. How does one compare two dates? My dates are retrieved from a database and the variables they go into are declared as java.sql.Timestamp. I need to know whether the date is before, equal to, or after today's date. Do I need to write a bean (i.e. CRA step) to do this or is there some functionality that I just haven't found yet?
