I have a few digital voice trunk lines (E1) from different service providers terminating on a single AS5350. All outbound calls are routed to the gateway from the CCM. Various providers charge different rate for different destination. I need to implement automatic Least cost routing on the gateway based on the tarrif provided by the providers without manually defining dial-peer for all the various destinations. Does anyone know how to achieve this, either on the CCM or the AS5350.
suppose you have several dial-peers, pointing to different VoIP providers (each with his own IP address). And all of them cover the same destination.
What might help you is called "Radius based routing".
Before placing a call, Cisco 5350 will authenticate it with a Radius server (sending the called number inside the Radius-Request attributes).
And here comes the tricky part. Suppose that this Radius server is equipped with a billing backend. It will check for the carriers who match the desired prefix. It will check the best gateway (based on the price, time of day and etc), and will send to the 5350 a special Radius-reply attribute:
with the IP address of the gateway inside.
Cisco 5350 then will route the call to this exact IP address.
Never tested it with Cisco, but it works with Quintum, MERA MVTS, Gnugk, Sysmaster. It must work with Cisco as well.
The short answer is that you don't.... That isn't entirely true while at
the same time it kind of is, but for the most part you don't configure
the softkeys. You enable or disable them via TCL. Here is the long
answer. Be sure to read the whole thing or e...
