Hi Guys,
I am using a AS5300 (IOS 12.1) as a Voip gateway. Every now and then we run into the problem that the GW is loosing packets. The network is a private LAN and utilization is below 10%. There are no collisions. We have connected a sniffer to the LAN and by looking at the RTP sequence number in the header we can tell that there is a package missing every once in a while.
Is that a known problem? Are there any fixes?
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks
Heiko

Check the network in the voice path for duplex mismatches.

In addition for checking the network side I would try to matcvh the packets seqid on the gateway itself, beofre it goes to the LAN.
The command for that is:
debug voip rtp packet
You can narrow diown the debug by entring the remote ip and the remote port
debug voip rtp packet remote-ip 1.1.1.1<16384-32767> RTP port number
