Malicious Messages

hello

A customer of mine received a malicious message yesterday. Is it possible to track down the origin of the call in unity. The subscriber's message activity report indicates the message is from an unknown caller. However, the call viewer displays the calling party's number when an incoming call is received. Is this number passed onand stored somewhere on the unity server?

thanks for your help.

jim

Re: Malicious Messages

Your best bet would be to look on the PBX. Do they have CallManager? If so and if you had traces on you can get the calling number as long as it was made available.

Re: Malicious Messages

The calling number (if provided) is included in the subject line of the message sent to the user. It's not accesible over the phone but if you open the subscriber's messages in Outlook you should see it there.
