Is there any way to manage the amount of data storage space a user consumes with their voice mail messages?<br><br>Is there some sort of tool that will only allow the storage of 20MB of voice mail files or a maximum number of VM messages in an Exchange mailbox?<br><br>
there's no easy way to limit message quotas for users based on a specific message type. Exchnage enforces this on a per user basis based on their total storage space usage. They have tools for reporting on and deleting messages based on age, type and the like (Mailbox Manager... several posts out here about that) but it's not capable of deleting messages based on the amount of storage consumed by specific message types (i.e. voice mail messages). That's probably not what you want anyway... you need some capability of having a special quota for just voice mail messages seperate from other message types.
Currently we rely on mailbox quotes in Exchange to limit drive space and don't enforce our own macro-quotas for voice mail message usage on top of that.
