We have a Unity 3.12 with external Exchange 2K.
The Exchange ran out of space and shutdown.
Unity continued to take messages but would not let people login using the TUI to check the new messages.
Should message retreival work without Exchange up?

While Exchange is down Unity should indicate to subscribers that they can't get at their normal message store but still allow them to get at messages left during the Exchange outage. What, exactly, are callers hearing when they go to sign in? Any errors in the application event log?

yes i hear the anouncement. one of my customer's requirement is to be able to leave and retrieve voice-mail from phone when the exchange is down, is it achievable?

do you mean we can retrieve the voice messages left before AND during the exchange outage?

no, when Exchange goes down we start caching voice mail messages locally and you can get at those during the outage. Messages left before the outage are in Exchange only (not cached locally) so they will not be available during the outage.
