I have a multiple Callmanager clusters throughout the organization. I want to utilize a gatekeeper. Can I use a gatekeeper to work with a gateway(Cisco router) that is running MGCP or do I have to run H.323 on the gateway to take advantage of the gatekeeper.
If you want the gateway to register directly with the Gatekeeper, then you'll need to use H.323 on the gateway. However, remember that with MGCP your gateway is using CallManager as it's call agent, and if your CallManager is registered to the Gatekeeper, then from the MGCP gateway perspective, you still have connectivity (via the CallManager) to Gatekeeper functionality.
