MGCP - Call setup problem

Hi,

I have a 3745 (12.2(15)T9) with a VWIC-1MFT and AIM module installed at a satellite office. There is a cluster of three CM's (3.3.3sr1) installed at the HQ, running MGCP.

From the satellite office, when i place a call over the PSTN, the call appears to connect when looking at the phone display, but there is no audio in either direction. Ringback is heard. These are dummy #'s, so no inbound call attempts have been made.

If i route the call through a different gateway that's in the HQ, the call is connected ok.

A debug for a failed call is shown below. As you can see, it doesn't get past the Alerting stage due to a 'Number Unobtainable' error.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: MGCP - Call setup problem

Hey Azam couple of points to note in the trace file. The called party number you are sending is 9123 to the PSTN make sure that you are stripping the 9 at the route pattern. I assume you are calling the speaking clock ?

Also the telco has not provisioned an ETSI Q.931 link for you. Call the telco and ask them to confirm that you have true ETSI Q.931.

C&W tend to supply this by default unless you specify ETSI. Would not mind betting this is a C&W link you have there :)

When you make the call connect after stripping the 9 you will see a messages on the phone that sent in the display IE. Like the one you see in the alerting. You need to get the telco to configure ETSI q.931 for you.
