MGCP Gateway Functionality with VIC cards in HWIC slots

Has anyone managed to get CallManager to MGCP control VIC cards that are not in network modules?

I have a Cisco 2851 router with a VWIC2MFT-E1, a VIC4FXS/DID and a VIC2/4FXO.

When I enter gateway configuration in CallManager, it allows me to configure the three NM/EVM slots for MGCP, but not the HWIC slots.

I have configured the 2851 for MGCP.

"show ccm-manager" shows that the gateway sees the callmanagers, but it never succeeds in registering with them.

MGCP Domain Name: Gateway

Priority Status Host

I'm guessing that means the Gateway is not registering because CCM is not configured to MGCP control any of the Gateway's voice cards in the HWIC slots.

Has anyone succeeded in getting CallManager to MGCP control VIC cards in HWIC slots?

What version Call Manager do you have? This works fine with 4.1(3).

The minimum CCM version for ISR support:

- CCM 3.3.5

- CCM 4.0.2a

- CCM 4.1.2

Hi dgahm

I worked it out - I was just being blind and not looking properly - the NM-4VWIC-MBRD in Slot 0 was what I was after.

I just glanced at the entry and I thought it was just another type of NM and came to the wrong conclusion. I was expecting to see "HWIC" or something in there.

Red-faced ...
