MGCP Gateway Source Address

We are implimenting a CallManager with 4 remote sites that are connected via PtP ATM DSL Bonded Connections. I am having a problem with getting the MGCP Gateways to register, here is the reason why...

The CallManager and Unity Server are on a 10.128.0.0/28 subnet, the remote sites are all on a 10.132.0.0/26 subnet. The PtP links between the routers at the remote sites and the 7206VXR router at the core are in the 10.0.0.0/30 subnet. Because of the way that the provider's network is setup, the servers in the 10.128.0.0 network CAN NOT communicate with the 10.0.0.0 transit network.

When I configure the gateways at the remote sites with the IP Address of the CallManager server, the gateway tries to contact the CallManager going out the ATM interface with the 10.0.0.X address, which is not accessible to the CallManager.

Is there a way to pick which source address the MGCP service uses?

Re: MGCP Gateway Source Address

Your best bet is to do the MGCP config manually, there is really not a whole lot that gets downloaded, POTS peers mostly. In fact, I don't generally even configure the auto download.

Yes:

mgcp bind control source-interface Loopback1

mgcp bind media source-interface Loopback1

Re: MGCP Gateway Source Address

Thank you, that worked for the MGCP part.

The router is still failing to download the configuration for the ccm-manager:

Is the TFTP request being initiated from the 10.0.0.0 network? Can we bind that to another interface like we did with MGCP?

Thanks!

Re: MGCP Gateway Source Address

Very true. I did just that, and it's registered. Thanks a lot for your help.
