Why should I use MGCP between gateways and a call manager cluster to have a central routing decision made when the gatekkeper does that?From what I see MGCP controlled call routing is just a subset of the gatekeeper features. Is there an advantage when using MGCP?
When you use MGCP you could do centralised configuration of all your gateways from the callmanager. Also MGCP offloads the gateway from doing call-processing functions. These are some of things I could think of.
