mirroring Exchange to a new server

I do understand that this is a Unity forum but I wanted to see if anyone has ever done this and if they have encountered any problems. We currently have an older exchange box that we will be replacing with a new compaq server. My question is if I mirror this existing exchange box with say, Norton Ghost, to the new compaq server will the unity server just pick up the relationships and continue working or will I have any additional step I should take? Also is mirroring the answer and if so will Norton's Ghost accomplish an exchange mirror?

thanks in advance

Re: mirroring Exchange to a new server

short story - this can be done and should work (I've done similiar things in the lab with Ghost and ImageCaster 3 and I know other folks have, too) but, of course, MS doesn't support Ghosting stuff around like this. If the machine name/IP address is the same and your DNS server is happy, we're happy. Don't do something like use SIDRoller or anything on that guy or all hell will break loose (i.e. Exchange on that box will never come up again).

Just understand this isn't a supported operation so proceed with caution.
