Mobile Remote Access Expressway - without internal dns server

Hi, everybody

I am trying to test MRA using Expressway for a few weeks and All jabbers is fine inside network. but jabbers cannot log-in from outside network.

- CUCM is 9.1
- IM and Presence is 9.1
- Jabber for iPhone is 9.6
- Expressway C and E is 8.2
- A external DNS server only is existed and no internal DNS server.
- All SRV and DNS records are on the external DNS Server and same domain is used for internal and external such as example.com.

At the monent, I am wondering if internal DNS server is needed or not.

Please let me know to fix this confusion.

Hi,

Split DNS is a requirement.

This link is a good design summary slides 16-17 talk about this.

Hi,The slides just mention

Hi,

The slides just mention split DNS SRV record. not Split DNS Server.

At first time, As there is no overlapping DNS records, I thought a Public DNS is enough

But now, It seems like Internal DNS server is needed, but I am not sure. So I want to make sure that Internal DNS server is mandatory or not.

Thanks
