Hello folks,

I have an existing customer (school board) who requires to modify their Openning Greeting using perhaps the ALTERNATE option to overide the Main Openning Greeting to say announce that "school is closed today due to the weather".

The questions is; can we modify the Openning Greeting by recording the new greeting or ALTERNATE greeting from remote (school secretary's home phone) ONLY and not to also have her use the web-based ADMIN Tool.

THAT IS, JUST USING THE PHONE. NO PC/SERVER ACCESS!

Is the only such solution then to use a Subcriber and have an Openning Greeting recorded as the messaging greeting for this Subscriber?

TIA

No, currently you can't manipulate call handlers over the phone, they can only be edited via the SA. This is one of those things that is supposed to be there (it's what the "administrator" link on the call handler is for) but it keeps falling off the list of development tasks in favor of other features. Kind of annoying, I know.
Yes, the only way to pull this off is to use a subscriber object for the greeting and let folks that need to change it know how to log in as that dummy subscriber. Not ideal but a lot of folks do it this way.
