MOH, callerID, and other problems

Hi guys,

Could you help to solve some of these problems?

I have an installation with 1 callManager, and a PRI QSIG connection to a Phillips PBX which makes the link to PSTN.

- I don't hear the Music On Hold when I call from the PSTN.

- When I call to the PSTN from an IP Phone, I get only the general caller ID but not the extension.

Thanks in advance

Jean-Philippe

Re: MOH, callerID, and other problems

Jean-Philippe,

1. With regards to the MOH problem, do you hear music when an ip phone is put on hold by another ip phone?

2. Some things to check are:

-- Make sure the calling party number is withing the DID range assigned to you.

-- Make sure you are classifying the calls the way the CO requires. Ask them about the plan and type classification that they require.

-- In the gateway configuration in CallManager, make sure presentation bit is allowed.

Regards,

Michael.

Re: MOH, callerID, and other problems

Hi Michael

Thanks for your answer.

I think for the calling number, it's OK, I asked my provider.

For MOH problem, when I use the codec G711, I only have MOH on internal phones, but when I use G729, I can go through the 3640 Gateway. Is it possible to have G711, because the quality of the streams is quite poor with G729.

Thanks

Jean-Philippe
