We're currently feeding MoH for our gateways off the local flash on the router. Each router has both a loopback and ethernet interface and we'd like to remove the loopback interfaces. The loopback interface is currently configured in the moh configuration:
multicast moh x.x.x.x port xxxxx route x.x.x.x y.y.y.y
where y.y.y.y is the loopback address. Even though documentation states that the route portion of the command is optional and that it will default to using the configured address in the "ip source-address" we can't seem to get it to work. When the route portion of the command is removed from the configuration moh stops working. A bug of some sort? This is 12.3(11)T on a 3745.
In order to play MOH to PSTN callers you need to have the lookback address on added in this command.
"A loopback interface must be configured, and its IP addresses must be included in the Cisco SRST multicast MOH configuration. This configuration allows multicast MOH to be heard on POTS ports on the gateway. The loopback interface does not have to bind to either H.323 or MGCP."
