Have a receptionist that answers calls on the 4 lines and then transfers to appropriate staff.
Currently use a config like this for each of the 4 lines:
ephone-dn 19 dual-line
label External 2
name External 2
call-forward noan 2050 timeout 20
trunk 0351743847 monitor-port 0/0/1
connection plar opx 0351743847
Having troulbe with this call forward no answer - don't think it works.
In the end what i want is: All calls from FXO's end up on line 1 of the 7960/7914 receptionist phone. She can then forward all calls to someone else when she goes out. She can also monitor the status of the 4 lines on the 7914.
That would be difficult. You can monitor ephone-dns, which means you can monitor phone extensions or park slots. You may be able to monitor ephone-dns that were trunked to FXO ports, but this would only be valid if
a) there was a 1-to-1 mapping between your FXO ports and IP phones and
b) only outbound calls from IP phones would be monitored.
