Multicasting across a WAN infrastructure

We recently went through an exercise to transmit near broadcast quality video from a tunnel breakthrough in an area as remote as you can get.( see http://www.tunnelcam.co.nz )

The CODECS were running generic multicast services and we were successful in bringing the transmission across a two router, two switch network link.

We then encountered difficulties in getting the traffic stream through to the next router destination. There was no difference in eqpt type or architecture (excepting that we have dual E1 data circuits between the second and third sites). SAP's were being received at the third router from the video source CODEC and the advertisement from the receiving end. But we could not get the SAP to advertise into the third sites LAN.

Anyone encountered this before?

Re: Multicasting across a WAN infrastructure

I don’t think it should be a problem. Get a testing window and router access to open to call Cisco. One of the engineers there should be able to look at the debugs to help troubleshoot the issue.
