Music on hold works on internal calls, but not on external calls, either incoming or outgoing. It used to work just fine. I have reset the server and checked the services. All looks fine, but still no music on hold. Anyone have any thoughts on this? We are not using an external music source, just the sample source provided. thanx, bj.
Checked it out and all looks fine. Works for on net calls, but not off net. The music source has multicast enabled. I am not a network person, but a couple of weeks ago we had a problem at one of our other sites that shares the same call manager. One of the network guys turned off some multicast setting on the gateway. Says he turned it back on. Is it possible this is the problem? bj.
That could very well be the problem. To verify that, disable multicast on music on hold and check if it with unicast. If yes, then you can go back to the network guys and have them fix multicast routing in the network.
To disable multicast MoH, you would need to disable the settings at MoH server configuration and also at the Media Resouce Group amd reset the MoH server.
