I do not see the ability to turn the MWI functionality OFF in the bulk utility, only the option to set the extension. I have some accounts that I do not want the MWI notification. Can I simply set the extension to X since my voicemail DN is not related to any phones out there? Or will that generate unneccessary errors when trying to use the MWI on a non-existant DN?

------------------------------
Michael Perbix
Lower Merion School District
Telecommunicatons Specialist

You do stand a chance for getting unecessary failures when Unity tries to send a MWI request for a non-existent CallManager DN. If the Unity subscriber's DN is not dialable from an IP phone using the same CSS as the Unity ports, then you'll probably see those errors. One reason why the DN might be dialable is if there is a route pattern that mathces the DN.
We could take a look at getting that functionality into Bulk-edit.

Yeah, it needs to be in the bulk edit 8-), or I have to edit onver 90 peoples accounts by hand AGAIN 8-). I don't want to play with having all the errors. Can we look at putting that in the Bulk utility pleeaasseee 8-). I hope soon too, I need to do this by Monday or I will be using the ol' terminal services from home 8-).

No sweat... I'll chunk out a version that has a new checkbox on there to disable the MWI in a few hours. I'll post a follow up here.
Yeah... the QA folks moderating the forum are going to jump on me for posting new versions without going through proper testing cycles (the BulkEdit tool is going to start shipping with Unity along with a few other tools on my page), but this is an easy/safe change. I'll send them doughnuts.

Does the bulk utility allow the use of a CSV file to make changes? Can I signify the user extension and what I want the MWI to be etc etc etc....
Thanks

no, that's not really the roll of BulkEdit... it's a rules based editor. Someone at the home office is working on a version of the Unity Import tool (the one that you currently see in the Unity program group) that will allow modifications of standing users via CSV (currently you can only add new subscribers with it). However I don't know where it is in the development process or which fileds it'll let you get at. I'll ping around and see...

OK... I just posted version 3.0.99 of BulkEdit on the 3.0 tools page on AnswerMonkey. Yes, this version will work with both 3.0 or 2.4.6. I added a new checkbox on the messages page that allows you to disable MWIs for the selected subscribers.
Also, I tried further to reproduce the other problem you mentioned with the extension edits and couldn't. I tried every combination of stripping/adding numbers to extensions I could think of and each time I could addres and dial these new numbers via the phone. Any details you have on how I could reproduce this on a test box would be appreciated.
