MWI Stops working, Port dials each extension 6 tim
Here is a strange issue that has come back to one of our customers. They have a single Call Manager cluster, two physical locations and one Unity server integrated with an existing exchange environment. Unity 2.4.5(66) running on a Cisco MCS-7835 (Compaq DL380).

It appears that after the server has been up for a certain amount of time, close to 2 weeks, strange issues begin to appear concerning the MWI lights. One of their physical locations seems to get a blast MWI "ON" message and the other physical location gets a blast MWI "OFF" message. After that, if you watch the ports in Status Monitor, MWI's are attempted at each phone that gets a new message 6 times. After a bit it attempts those same ones again. The lights on the phones are not changing but Unity is certainly trying. Any ideas?

Matt Slaga
TimeBridge Technologies
MCNE, MCSE2k-4.0-3.51, CCNA, CIPT2.0

We found a resolution to the problem. Apparently the primary had failed at some point and the phones and Unity failed over to the secondary. When the primary came back up, the phones switched back but Unity was still pointing to the secondary. After reseting the TSP (which required Unity to be stopped and restarted), the MWI's instantly began working again.

The short answer is that you don't.... That isn't entirely true while at
the same time it kind of is, but for the most part you don't configure
the softkeys. You enable or disable them via TCL. Here is the long
answer. Be sure to read the whole thing or e...
