Need a tiny IP phones solution.

Hello.

I need a 5 IP phones connected together.

I choose the Cisco 9705G model.

Is these phones work without a Cisco CallManager ?

Can I fill a local phone address book with

a phone number <--> IP address ? How ?

Is a TFTP server required for phones work ?

Regards,

Yuri Kozlov

If you are going to use Cisco IP Phones yes you need a Call Manager or Call manager Express

Why ?

The Cisco User Guide for 9705G requires only

a TFTP server.

Call manager is the signaling proxy for the phones. You might consider converting the phones from Skinny to SIP and using one of the Open SOurce SOft Switches for signaling.

Ok. The 7905G is supported H.323 protocol ? Yes.

The H.323 protocol suite has a peer-to-peer connection support? Yes.

What for I need a CallManager ?

May be enough a open source gatekeeper program ?

I not need a complex gateway, calling to any external PBX, etc.

I need 5 phones working together.

This is the hear which does the call processing and controls your phones and other services

All Call manager implementiosn do not need a Gatekeep and if you want to use 5 IP phoens for tesing it is not at all necessary

p.s: rate it when it helps
