Need Advice Unity 2.46 w/ CM3.1 Config Question

We have a customer that wants to use windows 2000 w/ Exchange 5.5 for Unity. They did not purchase Unified messaging yet, but plan to in the next year. Should we configure the Unity as part of their existing Exchange site.
1) If we do, will that burden the existing Exchange Message store?
2) will Vm users show up in the GAL?

3) If we build the Unity as a standalone PDC with a seperate exchange install, can we do fully integrated unified messaging later on without re-installing everything?
4) Do component systems come with windows 2k and exchange 5.5?
Thanks

If the customer bought VM only it legally must be installed stand alone. If they want to move to UM later they will need to reinstall unfortunately. This is a limitation of Exchange rather than Unity.
