No Caller ID name display

We just installed the callmanager 3.3.3sr2 and 1751-V with 4 BRIs as the Voice gateway(H.323). Calling number can display on IP phone, but no caller name.

I debuged isdn q931 and could see the caller name, it looks like telcom sent the caller name properly.

"Display IE Delivery" checked on CCM. Here is the debug output for a whole call process, the caller name is "company" in the case.

From the output, can you find any problems? Thanks,

Re: No Caller ID name display

It would look like your telco switch is not enconding the display name in the correct Q.931 IE using the correct format.

The switch must send the calling name or display information is the DISPLAY IE of the ISDN SETUP message.

It is upto the router to decode this and then send it to the call manager in the DISPALY IE of the H225 message.

Also in your first call it looks like the router is not getting the display ie sent to it from the ccm as well.

You can check to see if you are sending this by debugging the router for h225 messages.

try using

debug h225 ?

then make sure you have a display name set on the phone and also where you have defined the h323 gw on the cmm with the send display IE as checked..

If this works on youu telco side then they will be able to see the format of the message they need to send.

The other thing to note is that you siwtch is changeing the codeset it uses the name.

Instruct the switch to use ITU-T codeing and not National.

Hope this helps if not post debug q921 as well so that we can see the compelte IE string raw.

Neal
