We had just deployed VOIP and the issue that we are having is when a user makes a call, hears an announcement messages (for example "Enter your account number"") but cannot pass DTMF digits. This symptoms applies for both VOIP Toll-Bypass and IP Phone calls to PSTN/PBX calls. It was working for at least a week until then stop working.

To start, I would recommend doing some troubleshooting on your gateway. If it is an H.323 gateway, use debug voice ccapi inout to determine what the gateway is sending the PBX. I'd also take a look at your integration signalling. Is this a T1 CAS? A PRI? E&M? If it's E&M, your wink parameters may be off. It also may be helpful to have the PBX vendor to help troubleshoot their end of the connection.

hi,

Make sure that you have dtmf relay configured on your voip dial-peers:

"dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric"

usually does the trick to allow out-of band signalling for DTMF.

That would help on your VOIP toll-bypass, but I am not sure about the PSTN/PBX calls.

Matt

If you are using an MGCP gateway, this command should work for you:

mgcp dtmf-relay voip codec all mode out-of-band
