No ring back when Unity transfers a call through a call handler.
We just set up a customer with Unity 3.1.5 and they already have a pub and a sub CM 3.1.3a. When you enter an extension during the opening greeting and you get transferred to that extension, you don't hear the ring back. The person hears the phone ring and picks it up, conversation is good. It doesn't matter if you get transferred to an extension on the same LAN or across the WAN, it is the same. Is this a known issue? Did we miss some simple configuration? Any ideas?
Re: No ring back when Unity transfers a call through a call hand
Yes, there is ring back in every situation except when a call comes in from the PSTN (over the PRI) and then gets transfered by Unity.
We had to open a case with Cisco. They say it is bug CSCdw39759, There is a application oli_filter statement on the gateway that somehow interferes with the code the gateway sends to the telco switch to generate the ring back tone (in this case, the telco switch generates the ring back). This is the initial prognosis from Cisco. When we remove this statement, there is ring back on a transfer. It was supposedly fixed in CM 3.2.2,customer has 3.1.3a and is not planning to upgrade soon.

The short answer is that you don't.... That isn't entirely true while at
the same time it kind of is, but for the most part you don't configure
the softkeys. You enable or disable them via TCL. Here is the long
answer. Be sure to read the whole thing or e...
