Number of rings - calling party vs called phone

I have an h323 gateway that has 4 POTS lines connected to it. I have all 4 lines configured to ring the receptionist at DN 5089. When a person calls from the outside, using a cellular phone, the call rings about 2 or 3 times before the call ever rings at the Cisco phone. Is there a setting to configure that? Thanks.

Relevant config info:

the voice ports have callerID enabled.

i've seen this cause the symptom you state. remove callerID from the voice ports, shutdown, then up and try the call again. it should ring normally on both ends.

what version IOS?

What is the trade-off if remove "callerID enable" command??

It is because we have same problem..

After remove "callerid enable", are we still able to see caller id on the IP Phone if customers calling from outside through FXO??

Thank you very much. I did as instructed and now there is only about a half a ring before the phone starts to ring.
