one way speech with IP phone and VPN

Hi All,

I have a 7940 phone and 831 router at my house. I can receive calls from the office fine. When I get an outside call, I can't hear the caller. The caller can hear me just fine. The 831 has an IPSec VPN to a PIX515. My house has beed defined as a region and is using codec G729. Any ideas?

Sounds like a routing issue. RTP packets are not finding their way to your phone. Make sure the gateway can route to your 831 when your tunnel is established.

Thanks. That was it exactly. The gateway was not able to ping the phone.
