Optional conversation 1

My customer has an Octel and we're changing it to Unity 4.0.3. We are not sure wether to use the optional conversation 1 or the standard one. First, does anyone know the difference between the optional conversation 1 and the Octel ? Second, is there some knowns impacts for the user's and the administrator to go with Optional conversation 1? Thank you in advance.

Re: Optional conversation 1

You should check this link -

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_white_paper09186a00801ba7a5.shtml

With each release of the Unity software we release the Optional conversation white paper.

The only impact on the user is that they have differnet keys available while listening to messages.

There is no impact on the Administrators.

Re: Optional conversation 1

We don't document the difference between our conversation and theirs but I can tell you that we are not a verbatim copy. There are some differences because the products themselves are fundamentally different. The idea is that we are closer which makes the transition from Octel to Unity easier for users.

We do have documentation for our conversation on COO. You can look at that documentation here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_user_guide_list.html

It shouldn’t take too long to run through our conversation and theirs and note the differences.

Hope this helps...

Keith
