Ever since upgrading to OS 2.5 + SR1 I have been getting the following error in the application log of my publisher (the subscriber seemed to upgrade fine)..

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Event Category: None

Event ID: 3

Date: 9/5/2003

Time: 2:04:56 PM

User: N/A

Computer: PPSLOPS-CCM1

Description:

Error: GetNewFileName-fopen2=NULL

Re: OS 2.5 upgrade problems

Try this:

1.Stop Cisco Call Manager NT service.

2.There should be a file called "DBL~num.bin" under c:\program files\cisco\trace\dbl please rename this file to "DBL_num.bin.xxx" size will be 1k

3.Using notepad create empty a file and name it as "DBL_num.bin" file size 0k

4. Now start "Cisco Call Manager" service.

CSCec19813

Symptom:

The following error is logged in the application event viewer:

Event Type: Error

Event Source: Cisco CallManager

Event Category: None

Event ID: 3

Date: 9/2/2003

Time: 10:40:06 AM

User: N/A

Computer: XXXXXXX

Description:

Error: GetNewFileName-fopen(ffileNumberfile)=NULL,error=0x.

This error is seen ~300 times.

Condition:

This has been observed in CallManager version 3.3(x) after a reboot of the server. The condition is not seen when the CallManager service is stopped/started.

Workaround:

Verify the existence of an MA folder in the trace folder:

C:\Program Files\Cisco\Trace\MA

Re: OS 2.5 upgrade problems

Thanks for the quick response, but the workaround doesn't seem to apply to me. I have a MA folder in the trace folder and it is collecting data.

Any more ideas?

Thanks,

Gordon

I'm getting this problem again on my publisher. The bug notes say that this is a CCM problem... does anyone know when this will be fixed?

Re: OS 2.5 upgrade problems

I am having the same problem on a subscriber. The publisher is fine. I have tried the recommendation in one of the earlier posts to no avail. I have also verified the existence of the MA trace file directory. Any other ideas?
