OS versions

Hello,

What is the difference between OS 2000.2.7 and 2000.4.2? Is there any difference if I use 2.7SR8 and apply all the hot fixes individually or use 4.2SR6?

Thanks, Glenn

Re: OS versions

2000.2.7 is not going to have anymore SRs. 2000.4.2 is the OS release going forward for all platforms.

Yes there is a difference, certain platform update, bios updates, check the RN for details.

The 4.2 OS train is the recommended one, so 000.4.2sr6 is the latest recommended OS release.

Re: OS versions

Also for new installations, 4.2 takes a lot less time than the 2.7. You dont need to enter CD keys, change discs etc.

Re: OS versions

If I have 2000.2.7sr8 now.

Can I upgrade to 4.2 now, then 4.2sr6??

Thanks

Ken

Re: OS versions

Ken,

Yes you can do that!
