outbound caller id

I'm installing a PRI line so that I can have caller id. I was asked what can be sent to outside phones. Can I send the name and number or just the number?

With PRI you will pass Caller ID (number). If you are on CCM 3.3 you should also be able to pass Name Display depending on the carrier and type of switch they are using. I believe it will work with the 5E but on the DMS-100 it may or may not work. For example, QWest is upgrading their DMS-100 switches to be able to offer Name Display on NI2 protocol (not on Nortel Custom). What I would suggest is giving your carrier rep a call and ask them what service they can provide and what are the costs. QWest is now offering Name Display on a per facility (per PRI span) charge and a one time setup fee. This is in addition to their normal PRI charges.
